Chris Knight is a unique underwater photographer exploring the ocean’s mesophotic ‘twilight’ zone, ranging from 200 to 450 feet deep. Using cutting-edge technology, Knight dives areas of Hawaii and the Pacific which have never before been photographed. He is also an accomplished underwater explorer, with two registered historic finds to his name, including a previously unknown military shipwreck 270 feet deep off the coast of Pearl Harbor. The discovery was registered by NOAA in 2016.
His goal is to depict the haunting beauty of the deep ocean’s life-filled landscapes and to raise awareness of the importance of underwater biodiversity preservation. Knight’s stunning photographs are sublimated on highly-polished aluminum to illuminate the vivid colors hidden deep within the ocean.
